Rare 3rd edition of the translation by Denis Sauvage (1st French ed.: 1555; 1st Latin: 1550-1552). The historian and physician in Como, Giovio (1483-1552) was professor of Moral Philosophy and Natural History at the University of Rome. In 1528 he was appointed bishop of Nocera.
