Edition of the famous Catholic version of the Dutch Revolt by the Italian Jesuit F. Strada (1572-1649), in a French trsl. by P. Du Ryer (1605-1658), followed by the supplement. Engr. ill. (complete): 4 frontisp. showing 3 portraits, 8 maps (i.a. the Low Countries, France, Spain, Poland, England), 13 full-page portraits and 25 folding plates depicting nice panoramic city views (Den Bosch, Bruges, Ypres, Leuven, Ghent, Antwerp, Brussels), and views of famous battles and historical scenes (i.a. the pillage of Antwerp cathedral, the Farnese bridge, the courageous Kenau defending the city of Haarlem, the battle of Gembloux, the taking of Oudenaarde and Maastricht); and in the supplement 2 front. portraits and 2 full-page portraits of the Dukes of Egmont and Hoorne by P.-J.
