Story (1st ed.: Leiden, 1687) of Dellon's imprisonment by the Portuguese Inquisition in Goa, Daman and later in Brazil and Lisbon. He was condemned to death at the stake but his sentence was commuted to 5 years in the galleys. With the help of Bossuet, he was sent back to France before the end of the 5 years. Illustrated with 8 plates, some fold., representing judgement and penance scenes.
