Contemp. quarter calf with corners (used binding).

Atlas only with 20 coloured lithogr. anatomical plates by the French painter and lithographer Nicolas Henri Jacob (1782-1871). Being a part of the rare work by the French medical doctor Jean-Marc Bourgery (1797-1849). Each plate represents an anatomical subject in its whole "à la proportion demi-nature et quelquefois de grandeur naturelle". The plates were meant to be used in medical schools and hospitals and are often in a used state.
