1. 29 maps and city plans of Australia, China, India, Korea, the Pacific Ocean, Russia and South America by the French geographer Jean-Nicolas Bellin. Being a member of the French intellectual group called the "philosophes", Bellin was also one of the "Encyclopédistes" and contributed nearly 1,000 articles to the Encyclopédie edited by Diderot and d'Alembert. Most of the pl. featured in Prévost’s massive voyage collection "Histoire générale des voyages", published from 1746 to 1759. - 2. 2 maps and views of the Juan Fernández Islands featured in "Voyage autour du monde, fait dans les années 1740", the popular narrative of the expedition by George Anson (1697-1762) to South America and the Southern Pacific. - 3. Plan of Syracuse engraved by Jean-Baptiste Le Bas.
