Drawing, pen and brown ink, brown and grey wash, 26 x 34,4cm, laid paper, unsigned (considerable dampstain at lower left side, some brown smudges)
Under passe-partout, under wooden gilt frame (not studied outside frame).
Market scene with camels and oriental figures, possibly depicting Joseph in Egypt. In the left foreground a man wearing a turban distributes money and jewellery amongst the people. The sheet was formerly attributed to Sebastiaan Vrancx. Though expertly drawn, the drawing is more likely by a skilled contemporary hand, working in a slightly similar manner.
