Nice portrait in profile bust from the right, sketched and engraved by Quenedey (1756-1830), the first partner of Gilles-Louis Chrétien (1754-1811), the inventor of the physiognotrace (in French "physionotrace"). This device, invented in 1787, was designed to trace especially profile portraits in the form of a silhouette, using the same mechanism as the pantograph.
