Two plates on Louis XIV's sieges of Namur by Pierre Lepautre (1652-1716) who was appointed architectural designer at the "Bâtiments du Roi", the official design department of the French monarchy directed by Jules Hardouin-Mansary. The first plan for the Siege of Namur on June 30, 1692, comprises a map of the town and its surroundings immediately after the event, while the second shows the situation three years later, in 1695, at the moment of the Second Siege. The uppers parts of both plates show a view of the city within a decorative frame. Ref. Muller 2874 and 2875.
