8vo, 2 parts in 1 vol.: [8]-261-[3 bl.], [4]-146-[8]-[2 bl.] pp.; 34 pl. (first ff. of pt. I browned, foxing, some ff. unopened, upper corner of some pp. in the end of pt. II dampstained).
Mod. bradel marbled paper, flat spine with leather label (spine and joints rubbed).
First French edition of the "Versuch einer allgemeinen Vermehrung aller Baüme" by the Regensburg physician and botanist Agricola (1672-1738). The work was highly successful because the author claimed he found a new way to multiply trees. Illustrated with 34 fold. plates representing mostly grafting (one plate fig. an alchemical subject).
