Folio: [14]-CCCCCLXVII ff. (lacking final blank; sm. marg. repairs on title and last f., some other sm. marg. rep., cut a bit short at top occ. touching the running title (esp. towards the end) with some loss, sm. tear in f. CCCCXCIII reaching text, staining at lower margin, some worming in last quires (lower & inner margins strengthened).
17th-18th-c. calf, spine on 7 raised bands (rebacked, exp. repaired). Good copy.
The 1st Dutch translation of Livy, a monument of Dutch vernacular Renaissance printing. Title within border of 4 large woodcuts, over 300 large illustrations in text (some repeats). Very large Roman and grotesque initials. Some tail pieces showing the device of the Cologne printer Eucharius Cervicornus. Gothic type. Ref.
