Copper engr., 55 x 74 cm, coloured margins (marg. notes in brown ink, brown pencil strokes, sl. used).
Rare re-issue, based on Delisle's updated map from 1722, of Nicolas de Fer's map of Africa published by his son-in-law and successor G. Danet. Although published in the same year as the copy of the Bibliothèque nationale de Paris, this plate does not mention J. L'Huillier as original mapmaker. Danet's map shows the Lepala mountain range noted as the spine of the world. Ref. Tooley 331.
