Atlas only of the 3rd ed. of "La conchyliologie" given in 2 vol. + atlas by Favanne de Montcervelle father and son. Missing a portrait of the author, but complete with 3 frontisp. (one after Boucher and Chedel for the 1st ed. but retouched by Favanne, view on île d'Aix and pearl divers) and 80 beautiful plates (n. I-LXXX) engr. by various artists after designs of Jacques-Guillaume de Favanne, showing numerous shells and fossils artistically arranged. According to the manuscript ff. signed "J. Lambert Ste Ménehould 20 février 1890" bound at the begin., Favanne's work unfortunately remained unfinished and the descriptions of some plates were never published, making their interpretation difficult; the following ff. contain a copy of explanations proposed by Desmoulins in 1837 "avec les modifications nécessitées par les progrès de la nomenclature".
