Contemp. quarter purple shagreen, gilt initial "E.V.H." on front cover, triple gilt fillet on boards, gilt-orn. spine with raised bands (white damp st. on back cover, covers sl. faded and rubbed, corners bumped).
First French edition of P.-J. Goetghebuer's architectural work dedicated to William I, with a selection of buildings, castles and mansions illustrating the 19th-c. architectural activity in the Low Countries (Bruges, Ghent, Brussels, Antwerp, Amsterdam, etc.). The line engr. plates have shaded aquatinted areas and incl. 2 double numbered folding pl. showing the castles of Seneffe and Soestdijk. Complete, according to the table, with the 118 plates, of which 2 fold.
