First edition of the historical-geographical description of China by Dapper (1636-1689). It gives an account of Pieter van Hoorn's mission, by order of the Dutch East India Company, to the Chinese court in 1667. Part 1 concerning the second and third mission comprises an engraved title, dated 1671, and 27 engr. including 1 map of Aimoey and Quemoey. Part 2 on China has the 8 engr. mentioned in the instructions to the bookbinder and the 4 engr. with Chinese facsimile prints
