Albumen print, b/w, 18,4 x 23,7 cm, pasted on cardboard, ms. legends on mount (margins of cardboard spotted).
One of the 24 giant stone elephant statues, part of the Ming Xiaoling mausoleum of the Hongwu Emperor, founder of the Ming dynasty, placed along the Sacred Path to protect the resting place of the first emperor of the Ming Dynasty.
