2 vol., 8vo: front.-[30]-264, front.-[22]-191-[14] pp.; 7 pl. (some ff. sl. browned, some foxing).
Contemp. gilt morocco, boards ruled with a triple gilt fillet with sm. flower tool in the angles, gilt-orn. flat spines, gilt inside dentelle, a.e.g. (some sl. rubbing, wormholes to front cover of vol. II).
Nicely entirely copper-engraved edition "on the basis of Talbot's edition of 1699" (cf. Dibdin). Illustrated with 2 frontispieces, many in-text ill. (head- and tailpieces, initials, vignettes on title) and 8 full-page plates (7 outside text) by the engraver J. Pine (1690-1756) who collaborated with John Rocque on the first detailed map of London in 1746. Copy of the 1st issue with the words "Post. Est." in the medallion of p. 108 of vol. II.
