Beschrijving lot
Silver prints, 13,5 x 22 cm and 16,4 x 22,3 cm, mounted on thick paper, photographer's blindst. (some scratches on the larger one).
The Austrian Emperor Franz Joseph I just after his death in 1916. On the other photo the emperor dressed for the official mortuary in Schloss Schönbrunn. R. Lechner & W. Müller was a photographic dealer in Vienna, active from the late 19th c. until c. 1930. Notwithstanding the name, R. Lechner was never involved in the camera business. After some changes the photographic company was still named "R. Lechner (Wilh. Müller)". They also ran a portrait studio, and published books incl. their own photographic works.
Joined: 2 small reproductions of portraits of Emperor Franz Joseph and the Empress consort of Austria, Elisabeth, nicknamed Sisi. One by the photographic company F. Bruckmann, München after the portrait painted by Fr. Schrotzberg in c. 1870. (4 pcs)
