Numerous in-text and full-page black illustrations. The naval officer Duboc (1852-1935) received from Lesseps the management of hydrographic studies of the mouth of Panama Canal. He later joined Courbet and Rivière in Tonkin and participated in the Tonkin War (1882-1885).
