Rare first edition of this beautifully ill. work with 16 lithographs in b/w (except hand-coloured lithogr. pasted on front board) on the second part of the Opium War in 1860. Each pl. is accompanied by a descriptive text and ill. the landings on the conquered islands (such as Chusan), the camps, the battles (such as of Taku Forts, Palikao, etc.), the occupation, etc.
