("Praetorium toparchiae de Reedt", "Turnhout celebe...") cut shaving the picture with very min. loss, mod. ms. pencil annot. on p. 259, copy deeply and expertly restored by the Kunstatelier Sint-Catharinadal in 1978).
Mod. calf by "Kunstatelier Sint-Catharinadal" reproducing the original binding, gilt-orn. spine with raised bands (sm. scratch on spine).
First edition of this important topographical work on the marquisate of Antwerp by J. Le Roy (1633-1719). Ill. with an engr. title by A. van Diepenbeeck ("schema metallorum" on verso), 84 pl. out of collation by F. Ertinger, H. Hendrickx, L. Van Uden, etc., incl. 2 maps "Diocesis Episcopatus Antverpiensis", "Marchionatus Sacri Romani Imperii"), 2 city plans (Antwerp, Breda), and 80 plates (incl. 14 double-p. and/or fold., and 22 pl. printed 2 by 2 on 1 leaf) showing views of castles and country houses, monasteries, churches, coats of arms, funeral monuments, etc.; including numerous in-text ill. depicting coats of arms, tombs, etc. Without the large view of Hovorst often missing. Enriched with 1 fold. pl. showing the "Praetorium de Bossesteyn") not mentioned in the table, nor in BB.
