8vo: [16]-680-[24] pp. (ms. prov. hidden on title, first quire loosening, occ. sl. soiling, foxing, sometimes extensive, occ. quires sl. browned, underlinings and occ. ms. marginalia, sm. marg. damp stains).

17th-c. vellum, spine with raised bands.

Quite rare first Italian translation by Anton Francesco Doni (1513-1574), publisher and man of letters, of the letters to Lucilius. Initials with cherubs, some large, printer's mark on title, on verso of title and on last leaf with 2 different mottos. Printed in italics.
