Etching, 13,6 x 8,5 cm, laid paper, signed "LH", numb. 185 (trimmed inside platemark, traces of former mount and hinges still present on verso).

Good impression and condition. Rare.

Fine etching after Albrecht Dürer's (1471-1528) engraving from the Passion series (Hollstein German VII.15.17). The Hopfer family stood at the craddle of the etching technique in the Renaissance. Dark impression of the 2nd state before the number of David Funck (17th c.) was erased.
