Pencil, black ink, watercolour, gold and silver paint, 41,6 x 57,0 cm (visible), wove paper, signed and dated "AUGUSTIN DE WALSCHE, FECIT & PINXIT, GRAV.-IMP. ROUBAIX (FRANCE) 1917", dedication in pen.
Under passe-partout and frame.
Refined and elaborate drawing by Augustin de Walsche (1856-1939) with the arms of the King and Queen of the Belgians, two Brussels landmarks and grotesque ornaments. The decorated borders include the arms of the Belgian provinces and some of the Allies of World War I (United Kingdom, France, Russia, Romania, United States and Italy).
