A wall decoration: putti and female figures in the clouds.

Black chalk, grey ink and wash, framing line in brown ink, 27,6 x 27,2 cm, laid paper with watermark (fleur-de-lys with shield) (traces of former mount on edges, few parts strengthened).

Hinged at upper edges. Under passe-partout.

Both the composition and technique are very close to Jacob de Wit's (1695-1754) designs for wall decorations. Very similar sheets are in Haarlem (Teylers Museum, inv. T 061) and Amsterdam (Rijksmuseum, inv. RP-T-1896-A-3151(R)).
