Later ed. of 3 works on fruit trees for the kitchen garden (1-2) and on all sorts of trees for the pleasure garden (3) by J.H. Knoop (1700-1769). The first 2, among the most beautiful Dutch 18th-c. books, are rightly famous for their 39 engr. and splendid hand-coloured plates and for their presentation of many species now lost. The 1st one is ill. with 20 full-page pl. by J. Folkema and J.C. Philips depicting apples and pears, the 2nd one with 19 full-page pl. with illustrations of peaches, plums, cherries, berries, etc.
