The famous Augsburg Interim of 1548 drawn up for Charles V by a commission headed by Michael Heldring (then bishop of Mainz), who represented the Catholic point of view, by the Erasmian Julius von Pflug and by John Agricola, both moderate Lutherans. The Formula contains Imperial proposals for a reform of the non-doctrinal aspects of the Church: the office of the clergy, ceremonies and the like.
