3 vol., 4to: 80, 80, 100 pl. (dampstaining in the begin. of vol. 2, vol. 3 missing the final index leaves replaced by ms. pp.).
Contemp. sheep, marbled paper on covers, flat spines (used bindings with def., spines cracked, bookblock stretched). Partly uncut copy.
Part 1, 2 and 3 of this voluminous botanical work started by Jan Kops (1765-1849), botanist and prof. at Utrecht. After Kops' death, the work was continued by a series of other botanists, until it was finally completed in 1934, in 28 volumes, with 2240 plates. Our set is ill. with 260 hand-coloured engr. pl. Each pl. is followed by a description of the plant in Dutch and French. With the "Naamlyst der intekenaren" in the 1st vol.
