1. Ghent, 12-10-1903. He invites Huberti to his home in Paris. - 2. [Paris], 15-12-1903. "[...] je vous accorde avec plaisir l'autorisation de faire jouer Monna Vanna, une sorte de musique de scène qui souligne et commente certaines situations capitales du drame [...]". Like other plays by Maeterlinck, this (created in 1902) later inspired a number of opera composers: Emil Ábrányi (1907), Sergueï Rachmaninov (1907, unfinished), Henry Février (1909), Nicolae Brânzeu (1934, rev. 1976). G. Huberti (1843-1910), Belgian conductor and composer, was i.a. professor of harmony at the Brussels Conservatory.
