Reference work (1st 1741) on hippology by "le capitaine des haras de France" Garsault (1693-1778), dedicated to Jean-Frédéric Phélypeaux, 1st Count of Maurepas. Ill. with 49 engr. pl. (of which some fold.) after drawings by the author: 29 (numb. I-XXIX) concerning horses (anatomy, horse bits, groom/stable boys, farrier's instruments, etc.) and 20 (numb. 1-20) concerning medicinal plants "servant à soigner les cheveaux" (complete).
