Folio: [4]-122-[5-1 bl.] ff., 247-[1 bl.-8] pp., 115-[5] ff. (toned, some spotting, worming in blank bottom margin, title sl. wrinkled, tear in blank top margin f. III:36).
Old gilt calf, gilt arms on covers within rectangular central frame and corner pieces (helmet of arms scratched), spine with 6 raised bands, sp. edges (rubbed, head and tail clumsily repaired, joints splitting, corners bumped, ). Good copy.
1st ed. of the 1st French translation, by the Burgundian author Jean Millet (1513-1576), of the extensive Byzantine chronicle by Joannes Zonaras (1070-1140). It deals with the period from the creation of the world to the death of Alexios I Komnenos (1057-1118). Woodcut marks of Molin (I-II) and Bonhomme (III).
