Engr., 44,5 x 76,5 cm, old hand-coloured (delicately toned, a few spots, central folding repaired in the lower margin, sm. defects).

Large enchanting newsprint depicting the stage and fireworks outside the Episcopal Palace marking the visit of Louis XV to Strasbourg in October 1744. By the official engraver of Strasbourg, J.M. Weis, from his memorial album "Représentation des fêtes données par la ville de Strasbourg pour la convalescence du Roi [...]". These splendid ceremonies were held for the French victories in the War of the Austrian Succession and Louis XV's recovering from illness.
