The history of costume illustrated with 104 chromolith. by Albert Kretschmer, painter and costume designer of the Royal Theatre of Berlin. The text is written by Karl Rohrbach (Gota). The plates, printed by Fr. E. Köhler in Gera-Untermhaus, show a variety of different costumes from Ancient times (Egypt, Rome, Syria, Persia, etc.), the Middle Ages (Byzance, Germany, France, Italy, etc.) up to the end of the 19th c. Incl. some prints with militaria. This later ed. has the same pl. as the earlier 1882 ed.
