Drawing, pencil, 13,3 x 21 cm, brown paper, signed in black ink on verso "Wallace" (sl. toned paper, old glue marks on verso, min. loss on edges).
Atmospheric drawing of the pond near Warwick Castle. Wallace Tucker (1808-1869) was a Scottish landscape painter working in Devon and Warwickshire. The medieval castle of Warwick and its 18th-c. parks enjoyed particular interest among English Romantic landscape artists for their picturesque qualities.
