Drawing, pen and brown ink, watercolour, laid paper (2 ff. glued together: left part browned, right seam loose, foldings).
Topographical map, by H.C. Hofmann, a cartographer from Kassel, considering Hersfeld as a part of the Diocese of Fulda (with the coat of arms of the Diocese and the title "Fuldensis Diocesis pars"). It appears that this refers to the forced union between Fulda Diocese and Hersfeld Abbey which lasted little more than two years, from 1513 to 1515. For the rest of the century the abbey continued as a Protestant establishment. The map shows Bad Hersfeld, incl. Schloss Eichhof, the course of the Fulda and the Benedictine imperial abbey. With an inset map "Situatio praepositura Gellingen in Thuringia, ad principalum Heresfeldensem pertinentis", showing St. Wigbert's Cloister (Göllingen), originally a daughter monastery of Hersfeld Abbey. After 1648, Hersfeld Abbey became a domain of the Landgraviate of Hesse, along with Göllingen Monastery.
