Rare travel account of B.E.A. Rottier's journey through the Mediterranean, with the purpose to buy antiquities. The resulting art collection, named after the author Rottiers Collection, became an integral part of the collection of the Dutch National Museum of Antiquities in Leiden. Incl. 3 maps: 1. Carte topographique de Constantinople et de ses environs. - 2. Carte du Bosphore; depuis la Mer Noire jusqu'aux Dardanelles. - 3. Carte dressée par le Mr. le colonel Rottiers, pour servir à son itinéraire de Tiflis à Constantinople (Brussels, H. Delpierre, s.d.). This issue by the Tencé brothers, who also published Rottiers' previous work, was available for sale in April 1729.
