Folio: [2]-25-[1 bl.] ff. (toned, sm. tear in title, soiled, occ. staining, strong on f. 13, 18).

16th-c. gilt calf, covers with central oval ornament, gilt titled spine, mod. endpapers (rebacked, worn original covers pasted on). Good copy.

Very rare repr. of the famous Golden Bull (1356) of Charles IV, Emperor of Germany (1316-1378). It proved to be an important document for the constitutional history of the Holy Roman Empire. Ref. VD-16 D-778. - Not in Adams, BnF, STC German (BL). Prov. A few old annotations.
