Cont. limp vellum, flat spine (ties and front flyleaf lacking, some wormholes, small lack at tail).
A later edition of a collection of letters (1st 1549) by B. Tasso to famous Italian humanists, e.g. Francesco Guicciardini, the cardinal Bembo, Girolamo Morra, Clemente Panarello, Luigi Gargano, popes Clement VII and Paul III, Antonio Doria, etc. Bernardo Tasso (1493-1569), father of Torquato, was one of the most popular Italian poets of his time. He served various noblemen in Milan and Urbino and was governor of Ostiglia. Printed in italics. Orn. with some historiated initials and with Cavalcalupo's device on title. Ref.
