Beschrijving lot

Bronze, Ø 4,6 cm (occ. sm. scratches, dark spots mainly on the lapels). Fine to very fine.

Each piece of this collection of 100 medals has a bust with the name of the person and the signature of the artist on the obverse side, and a Latin inscription on the reverse side giving the place and date of birth and death. We have: Christophe de Longueil - or Longorius - (1488-1522), humanist born in Mechelen,- two famous Dutch admirals: Piet Heyn (1577-1629) and Maarten Harpertszoon van Tromp (1597-1653),- Daniel Seghers (1590-1661), Antwerp Jesuit,- Johan de Witt (1625-1672), Dutch statesman,- Jan Hendrik Van Swinden (1747-1823), Dutch mathematician and physicist,- François-Xavier de Feller (1735-1802), Jesuit and spiritual author.
