Contemp. blind panel-stamped calf over wood, edges bevelled inside, covers with portraits of the Muses and roll stamps, spine with 4 raised bands, metal clasps and catches, mod. endpapers (rebacked, rubbed at edges, 1 clasp missing). Good copy.

Bible translations (some directly from the Hebrew) and paraphrases by the Italian humanist Flaminio (1497-1550). Most probably another (unrecorded) variant of an ed. printed for at least six other Paris booksellers (J. Du Puis, P. Gaultier, Wid. G. Le Bret, P. Le Preux, J. de Roigny, J. Ruelle). "Sub scuto Basiliensi" was the device of Chr. Wechel, but was he still active in 1550?
