Contemp. sheep, gilt. orn. spine with raised bands, sprinkled edges (local stains on covers). Nice copy.
Rare Brussels ed., published only a year after the original in Paris in 1707, of the surgery courses given by Dionis (1643-1718) at the Royal Garden of Medicinal Plants. Ill. with 10 full-page engr. plates and 51 engr. in-text, figuring the author, surgeon's instruments and bandages. This work opened a new era in which French surgical teaching dominated Europe. Dionis was surgeon of the French royal family.
