Engraving, 20,5 x 26,7 cm, laid paper with Gothic P (Briquet: 8841), signed in the plate at lower left "Jo. Strada inv." (trimmed to the platemark, tiny brown stain between horse's feet).

A German horse. Part of the famous series "Equile Ioannis Austriaci Caroli" (39 pl.) with portraits by Stradanus of all the horses in the Royal stables of Don Juan of Austria. Very good, dark impression of the 1st state (of 3).
