Folio: 3 parts, CCLXVIII [= 268], XCV [= 95]-[1], CCCCCC [= 600]-[15-1 bl.] pp. (somewhat short, fore-edge top quarter of E1 torn off with loss of text, some marginal dampstaining, a few ink stains, sm. hole in top margin A4 touching a few letters, some woodcut toned or stained).
18th-c. mottled calf, richly gilt spine with 6 raised bands and morocco label, red edges, marbled endpapers (sl. rubbed).
Humanist scholarly annotated ed. of Vergil’s writings. With 203 splendid large Renaissance woodcuts (good impression), from the famous 1502 Grüninger ed. Title in red and black within elaborate woodcut border. Printed in 2 col. of glosses around central text in larger type. On f. [III] A3v an 18th-c. manuscript note on a 1733 church fire in Tournai.
