Beschrijving lot
Chiaroscuro woodcut, with touches of white wash, framing lines in brown ink, 44,5 x 32,5 cm, thick laid paper, unsigned (some min. tears at right edge, sm. tear at upper left corner).
Magnificent sheet in chiaroscuro, refelecting the taste for this drawing technique which also found its way into contemporary woodcut production. The print seems to be executed in response to the coloured woodblocks of Andrea Andreani. Small illegiable signature and date "22.X.1814" on verso (old attribution or collector).
