Beschrijving lot

12 original photographic prints in b/w, 18 x 13 cm, stamp on the backside with the address "18 rue de Naples" (4 prints with film edges visible, very superficial scratching, but good state).

Under editor portfolio (21 x 15 cm) in grey paper printed in red, with flap (used, sm. marginal tears).

Nice series of "snapshot" portraits of Anseele (1856-1938), famous Belgian socialist politician of Ghent, alone or with people in a garden. The Studio Stone was founded in Brussels in 1931 by Sasha Stone (1895-1940), photographer born in Russia then American, and his Belgian wife Cami. They worked in Berlin between 1924 and 1931, then in Brussels until their divorce in 1939.  Ref. www.moma.org Joined: 2 photographic portraits of Anseele, in a convertible car (Brussels, "Photo Waro"), and on his deathbed (unsigned).
