Extensive and still valuable ecclesiastical history of the Ghent bishops and the Cathedral Church of St. Bavo. Engr. front. (in both vol.) by P. Martenasie after A. Lens with portrait of the Ghent bishop Van Eersel and the tower of St. Bavo's, and 17 engr. coats of arms of Ghent bishops in text by F. Heijlbrouck. Complete with the often lacking supplement, published 5 years later. Bound at the end of vol. II: 149 manuscript pages in a contemp. hand, in French, with additional information and corrections (?) and esp. deceased people from the later years 1777-1783, and a few from 1789-1793. Most endpapers and flyleaves full of ms. notes by the same hand.
