English poem of three 8-line stanzas, dated "1830", written on blind-stamped stationery with Latin devices (ca. 24,5 x 20 cm), sm. red wax stamped. Attached to the poem, a label (19th c.) with affirmation "Autograph of Charlotte Elisabeth".
Fair copy of the poem. Signed at bottom "Charlotte Elizabeth", i.e. Charlotte Elizabeth Browne Phelan Tonna (1790-1846), author of religious novels and pamphlets. It was printed in "Ireland, but still without the Ministry of the Word in her own Native Language" (Edinburgh 1835, p. 70), by the Scottish Presbyterian theologian, and correspondent of Charlotte Elizabeth, Christopher Anderson (182-1852). Anderson intended to convert Ireland to Baptist Protestantism by means of the use of Gaelic.
