Contemp. blind-stamped calf over wood, covers with central Crucifixion stamp within multiple blind-ruled and ornamental frames (sl. rubbed, some sm. repairs), spine with 5 raised bands (renewed at head & tail, joints split but very firm), brass clasps and catches, edges bevelled inside. Good copy in a contemp. binding.

Rare reprint of the standard 1599 Moretus ed. of the Dutch Catholic Bible. The (unillustrated) book was intended for Catholics in the Dutch Republic. Illustrated with 2 engr. titles. Printed in Gothic type in 2 col.
