Drawing, pen and black ink, grey wash, 13,3 x 19 cm, laid paper, unsigned (several sm. spots, lower text margin with topographical identification and signature possibly cut off).
Under passe-partout and frame (not studied outside frame).
Cornelis Pronk (1691-1759) was a Dutch draughtsman, painter and porcelain designer. He is known particularly for his numerous topographical drawings of Dutch cities, towns and buildings, mostly in grey wash. For many years Pronk toured the Dutch Republic in summer, usually on foot, to sketch views of cities, towns, and landscapes, as well as castles, stately homes and other buildings. Attribution on verso of frame.
