Contemp. calf, blind-stamped covers ruled with large orn. roll-stamps and fillets, gilt orn. spine with raised bands, blue edges (rubbed, front joints partly split). Very good copy.

Extensive documentation of papal medals 1417-1699 by the Italian Jesuit Filippo Buonanni (1638-1725). Engr. front. and 94 engr. (incl. 10 folding) with views of Rome and hundreds of medals. "Opera classica in questa materia per la dottrina e l’accuratezza" (Cicognara).
