First edition of the travelogue of the summer trip (21 July - 16 August 1821) of the Duke and Duchess of Rutland through Belgium and the Rhineland. Illustrated with 13 full-page lithographed plates by Hullmandel, after drawings by Duchess Elisabeth Howard (1780-1825), showing the rocky banks of the Meuse, and the Rhine at Bonn, Godesberg, Bacharach, Caub, Koblenz, and the castles of Beaufort, Nassau, Schönberg, Rhein Phalz, Batz and Ehrenbreitstein. On 25 July, the Duchess and her husband, John Manners, 5th Duke of Rutland (1778-1857), watched a festive visit of King William I to the city of Ghent.
